Initially, when we hear “smart house technology” we think of cutting-edge devices only available for a select few. Remember when Bill Gates gave us a sneak peek inside his smart home a while back? It left me spell bound because the gadgets were so cutting edge, expensive, and just cool.
Today, thanks to supply and demand, we all now can create a harmonious home using smart technology without being a CEO of a major software company. Today we use smartphone apps to turn on or off our lights, heating, unlock our front door, monitor our home, and start dinner (i.e. WeMo Wifi-enabled crock-pot). LG offers a smart home device that allows you to see what’s in your refrigerator, start your washing machine, view whose knocking on your front door, or monitor your kids in their room and more.
Thanks to increasing demand, you can find smart technology gadgets in every price range.
My personal favorite is the smart refrigerator we recently purchased for our home. This LG refrigerator will scan grocery receipts to keep track of items bought and alert us to items expiring soon. It gives me the ability to track what I purchase and what is in the refrigerator. There’s just two of us at home and sometimes milk spoils before we can use it all if we’re not careful. It also lets me know what we’re out of or from buying something we already have when I’m at the grocery store.
GE offers a remote-controlled microwave which allows you select the correct power level by scanning an item’s barcode. This is great for kids. No more burnt popcorn or frozen in the middle hot pockets! How about a voice-controlled convection microwave? GE offers a full range of wifi options. And if this suits your lifestyle, Whirlpool offers a smart appliance that is fingerprint resistant, remembers your favorite dishes, and cooks a meal to perfection.
Thanks to increasing demand, you can find smart technology gadgets in every price range. So, next time you think about remodeling or just want to purchase a new appliance or kitchen faucet, remember it’s easy to introduce these great item, allowing you to improve your quality of life and empowering you to stay connected to your family.
